Yes, I am indeed still alive! I've just been busy these past couple of weeks. During my time away I read a book called Night by Elie Wiesel. This was a book that I did not chose to read at the book store. I had been assigned to read it over the summer for my Honors English 10 class.
Here is a quick little summary of the book which I got from goodreads:
Night A
terrifying account of the Nazi death camp horror that turns a young
Jewish boy into an agonized witness to the death of his family...the
death of his innocence...and the death of his God. Penetrating and
powerful, as personal as The Diary Of Anne Frank, Night
awakens the shocking memory of evil at its absolute and carries with
it the unforgettable message that this horror must never be allowed to
happen again.
The book was pretty good if I must say. I am a sucker for WWII books. I find it interesting and sad. This book was sad but it was true. I was holding my breath at the end just waiting for that moment when the camp was liberated. And it finally came. I was saddened when the boy was at the verge of losing his father. They were so close, but back then they didn't know how close they were. The book allowed me to clearly picture his journey and it was great. This book is a short read but it is one of the better books I have read for school in a long time.
