The book in the spotlight on this lovely Sunday is
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. The book is about 15 year old Clary Fray who heads out to a club one night with her best friend Simon. At the club she doesn't expect to witness a murder, let alone committed by three teenagers who are covered in mysterious tattoos and are carrying strange weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. This marks Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors who rid the earth of demons.
It's also her first
encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and
acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into
Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary
herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in
ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly
get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .
(Summarized from Goodreads description)
This book is amazing, personally I am not a fan of books written in third person, but this one I didn't even seem to notice, because it was just that good. The book is a thrill ride from beginning to end, it doesn't start out slow like most books, right in the first chapter there is already action happening. Plus I love how all of the characters are so different from each other. This book made me laugh, want to read more, I think I might have been sad at one point, and it's just amazing in general. You should read this book and all the others in the series if you have yet to read them.
